Praise for our Marine Department

Long Distance Service

A few weeks ago I was heading out of Los Gigantes Marina in Tenerife, where my Carver 26 is berted when I hit a submerged object a mile or so out.

I received a tow back into the marina and on lifting the boat, I found that all four props on my Volvo Duoprop legs had been damaged. I had the legs removed and checked for any internal damage but thankfully they were OK.

The mechanic carrying out the repairs suggested I claim on my insurance so I contacted my brokers, Alker Brothers of Wigan, whose name I got from MBM several years ago, they contacted the insurer. The claim was agreed and in less than two weeks, my boat was repaired and back in the water. Bearing in mind that I am based over 2,000 miles away, the service I received was excellant. I would like to thank them through the magazine which I receive out here in Tenerife every month without fail.

Well done to both Jean Hazlehurst and Sue Corrigan in our Marine Department
